Guitar Trainer

Guitar playing BoostApps reader War Machine discovered this app and recommends it for all guitarists.  It’s an app and game that helps you learn the notes on the fretboard for the guitar and other stringed instruments like the banjo or bass.  It also has a guitar tuner.

This a demo.  It doesn’t expire but some of the features are limited:

  • Only the first 7 frets can be used.
  • The training mode can only be used for 3 minutes per session.
  • The game mode is limited to the first 4 levels.
  • Statistics and preferences aren’t saved between sessions.
  • However the tuner is fully functional

  16. almost done. just having some issues with the sound and images. Sound gets messed up on all but the i465 and i855. Images get blurry on i9 and i776. ( tested on i9 i465 i855 and i776) Hopefully will finish soon.

  17. yes a chord builder would be awesome. i bought one for my i880 sometime back, chord buddy, chord genie sumthn cnt remember but very nice

  18. Java supports playing of custom sounds, just like old school BASIC. App on java2s.com called ‘Play C Sharp’ that shows it. Alot of other j2me and general java and xml code, tutorials and etc.

    • The trouble with Java ME is that a lot of generic code that should work on all phones doesn’t because of incompatibilities between JVMs from different vendors. Developers can only test on so many phones. iDEN is a low priority for most developers due to it’s limited market share and the fact that traditionally users haven’t been able to easily install 3rd party apps. As a result we have lots of key mapping and sound issues with the free and generic apps that I can post here.

  19. I have sound in this app on my i776. Check your Java Speaker volume setting. Go to profiles > highlight your current profile, press view > edit > volume > Java Spkr: and set it to the max

  20. i actually have some other music apps. ill try to give out the names of some of them. im working on a chord encyclopedia but i havent had much time to finish up the java code. once its done ill post it online
