07.15

Update: The Lite version of the Bolt Browser was updated to Version 2.11 today. There are no new features in this release, however it contains a fix for a long standing Bolt bug that caused page loading to stop at 20% on some sites.
Bolt 2.1 added support for Facebook chat and other web-based chat apps and the ability to post messages, links or URLs from any page displayed in BOLT directly to your Facebook account without navigating away from the currently viewed page.
Bolt 2.0 added tabbed browsing and FaceBook integration to the low memory version of the Bolt browser. See the Bolt 2.11 Full Version Post for more information about the new features in 2.0 and 2.1
The links at the end of this post have been updated to point to the latest release.
To Update Bolt: Use the "Send To Phone" button below to send Bolt Lite 2.02 to your phone. Then highlight Bolt in the Java Apps menu, press the "Menu" soft key and choose "Update". Choose to "Keep existing data" when prompted and you won't lose your bookmarks and settings.
This is the "Lite" version which uses less memory is a smaller download (154 KB vs. 239 KB) than the "Full" version. I don't recommend the Lite one unless you are having stability problems with the full version as it lacks two very useful features; copy/paste and the password manager. Other features found in the full version that are missing from Bolt Lite include landscape orientation, socket protocol support, favorites/feeds organization, inline editing, find in page feature, widgets and 3XL magnification.
Tip: The OK button does not work in Bolt on iDEN phones, use the green Call key instead to click links and menu items.
Type: Freeware
Vendor: Bitstream- Product Page, Online Help, Forum
Data Connection Required: Yes
Supported iDEN phones: All Falcon Series with Java (i776, i465, i9, i290, etc.)
File Size: 154 KB
Alternate links for side loading and non-iDEN devices: ZIP JAD JAR
super good
Thanks Dennis-tried to clear the cache by turning off the phone, but no luck. The Memory Status Tab under My Stuff is where you check of course, the memory status. You actually can clear the Bolt Lite History but doesnt affect the memory.
I have a Samsung SGH-A737 and downloaded Bolt Lite 2.0 3 days ago. It's supposed to clear your cache on a use-by-use basis, but it seems to use more memory each time i use it even though I clear cookies with each use. Just need to know if there is any to clear this browser's cache if possible. Thanks for any suggestions, Jim
I'm not sure which memory you are looking at but if it's Flash storage, that's where history, bookmarks and subscribed feeds are stored. You can clear history in the full version of Bolt but not Bolt Light. The cache should be cleared when you exit Bolt. I believe that Bolt stores its cache on the Java heap which is also cleared when you shut down the phone.
are there any site that lets you download free 3pg videos directly to your phone im using the i856
Try http://tubidy.mobi and http://video.mogg.mobi/
This version is little faster than others, for me at least, but it still has same ol problems. Filling out form's is nearly impossible thanks to the page re-loading every time info's entered, and the graphics are so dull, it's hard to see some picture's.
i was able to get opera 4.2
its still not working. the error says that i entered an invalid number. i successfully got microsky and spyblue. just cant seem to get bolt lite or opera 4.2
I am getting an error when i try to send bolt and opera to my i776. My 10 digit number is correct. I successfully downloaded another app minutes before.
I just tested Bolt Lite and it downloads fine to my i776. If you are still having this problem please provide some details about the error.
This is good but nowdays i don,t see pictures befor lest week when i go in my hotmail in bolt lite i see my pictures in my inbox but this week i lose so plz&plz can you help me the new vertion of this web bolt lite i waiting for you answer
Try reloading the page, checking that images are still enabled in the Bolt settings and power cycling the phone. If none of those help delete and reinstall the app.
i have a i 856 can you play movies or vids on youtube or is there a app for that
Streaming video (YouTube, etc.) is impossible on Boost iDEN or Nextel phones, the network is far too slow.
hey i just put this app on my phn the other day, this apps the best. im sayin i can go 2 every website i want, facebook, myspace, twiter. anything i want 2 do i can. lol except no movies or vids cause i got a pos i465. lol. yall are awsome!
thanks dennis hun works great on my i290.
very good one
this app sucks on the 776 boost phone it doesnt work and i deleted it off my apps because it downloads fine but when u try to surf the net it wont move to the site typed in like the reg net does ... the oprea works great though
You have to use the Call key as the OK button. Lots of apps are that way on Boost phones.
Chris, direct downloads from websites, including GetJar, are not possible on Boost or Nextel phones. Here's a work around: How To: Load (Almost) Any Game or App On Boost and Nextel
does anyone know y getjar apps dont send to i465 phone it keeps saying error.
pretty good update. works well on i290, other than fact that it refreshes alot and crashes-resets phone after long while. finally got on my yahoo id though, which apparently was deactivated. thanks for your unplanned assistance dennis, been missin my id.
Ben, That's normal on Boost and Nextel, unfortunately. The phone OS doesn't allow Java apps to write to the file system so Bolt can download anything by itself. So it tries to invoke the browser to do the download but that is also not allowed and fails too.
You can load games and apps to your phone using BoostApps, the iDEN Content Loader web service or with a data cable and PC loader program.
You can load ringtones and wallpapers using Bluetooth or a cable and loader program.
every time i try to download something off sites like phone zoo and myxer my the bolt lite on my i465 tells me that the browser my close for download, or something like that. can you tell me what is going wrong?
