"The Universal App Loader" lets you send almost any mobile Java app or game on the web to your phone. Paste or the type the URL of a mobile Java game or app JAD or JAR file in the text box above, press the "Send To Phone" button and follow the instructions on the following pages.
The Universal App Loader is most useful for users of Boost Motorola iDEN phones (Motorolas with model numbers starting with the letter "i" like the i265, i475, i776 and i9) as those phones can't download and install apps using the browser. Users of other phones, including Boost CDMA phones (Incognito, Innuendo, Seek, Juno etc) should generally NOT use the Universal App Loader as it's easier to download apps directly using the phone browser.

Finally a starting point for downloading some music to my i1. Thanks
Is anybody else having problems with Bolt Lite when using Facebook ?
I cannot get past the welcome page , no matter which link I click .
I left a comment on one of their Facebook topics , but there is no telling if anybody at Bitstream will see it .
I just installed a cool app on my Motorola I1. It's called Tawkon, you can find it in the app market place. It tells you how much radiation your phone has throughout the day. It's good to look at level of it before you place your call. If it's red and says poor, you should put on your head phones. We should all really have a radiation guard sticker on our phones, you know that the Motorola i1s have so much radiation. If you are wondering where those headaches are coming from, this is something to think about. It's a free app and works really well on my phone. Lets also consider detoxing our bodies of the radiation that we were already exposed to, and wear a radiation blocker (bracelet or necklace. It comes from our computers and T.V.s too. Check out Tawkon.
Really Dennis? that's great!.. I might just have to go out and do that, soon. Thanks, your tips and knowledge are great!
Hmm, I was just wondering if I could use Time warner WIFI on my Motorola I1 Phone?.. I don't live in a hotspot area, but I do have Time Warner cable and hard wired internet. I don't get good wireless data transfers at all. I also get a pretty crappy internet connection on the IDEN network. Has anyone tried it yet ?, or shall I be the first one to pioneer and do it?
WiFi works great on my i1. I use it at home and at Starbucks and the local Public Library. It's much faster than iDEN. The built in Android browser has problems with some public hotspots that require you to accept terms before you can browse. If that happens I connect with Opera Mobile which always seems to work.
I just happen to live in an area where the WIFI is weak to non existent, So I have to depend on a really slow IDEN with no youtube vids. or any other decent data transfer app. So, if anyone has used the Time Warner wifi or any other paid WIFI service on the Motorola i1 phone please let me know how it worked out for you, or if you were able to successfully install and or use it.
You just need to connect a WiFi router to your Time Warner cable modem and you will have WiFi in your home
Is that something I can do myself, or do I need the cable company to do this?
I've also considered getting WiBand, so that I can take my connection anywhere Time Warner is. (Coverage Area) Thanks, Dennis!
Installing a WiFi router is something you can do yourself but it can be a little tricky. Get a techie friend to help if you can.
If it is something that only involves hardware and software installation then I CAN DO IT. If it requires ISP coding then, I would need them.
It's just changing settings and connecting cables. Your ISP doesn't need to be involved.
get free ringtones from myxer(dot)com......also download oprea mini....once its fully loaded to your phone go to mp3raid(dot)com to download free music......enjoy fellow boost users......enjoy
facebook chat does work on Nimbuzz IM. However, when your contacts are offline they show up as their profile numbers instead of their names or nicknames.
Hey Everyone, I just bought the Boost Mobile Innuendo and I was wondering how can I get FREE Ringtones and FREE Ringback tones or FREE Calltones? And is it even possible? If so, could someone PLEASE let me know? It would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanxxx.
Calltones or ringback tones originate at the mobile carrier's (Boost) switch. They aren't stored on your phone. So the only way to get them is through Boost. So free ones are impossible unless Boost decides to give them away as part of a promotion
how do i get apps for my phone i have the jumo phone (boost mobile)
Load boostapps.com in the phone browser, find an app you want and click the JAD link.
is that for the free apps???
Yes, all the apps on Boostapps are free.
i wuld like to get a facebook app for the juno plz help me?
I haven't found a Facebook app that works on any of Boost feature phones. Using facebook, com in Opera Mini or Bolt works fairly well, except for chat, places and photo uploading.
I haven't found a solution for Places or photos. I don't use Facebook Chat, but the eBuddy, Nimbuz and WeBuzz IM apps claim to support Facebook Chat but I've heard they don't work very well.
Do you have a market place app on your phone? check to see if you do. Most do, like the blackberry, Mototola i1. Check the website if you don't see it on your phone. If your phone is and android it should have an apps icon,or market place icon.
i need a beer
Facebook says i need a handler for my sanyo mirro before i can post pics. How do i get one?
There's no handler. AFAIK uploading photos from the Juno to Facebook is currently impossible. See: Editorial: Facebook Photo Uploading Needs To Be Fixed Now for more info.
I am having trouble downloading the universal app loader. I have tried opera mini & ucweb. Is their something I am not doing. I have boost mobile motorola clutch i465. I might be doing something wrong cuz I don't read that good cuz I see & read upside down & backwords. Please help me
What sites are you trying to to download from using the Universal App Loader and what is the error or issue?
I have the motorola clutch i465 with Boost. witch browser would work faster 4 my phone cuz it is realy slow & where can I download wallpaper & screan savers 4 free
Opera Mini 4.3 works well on the i465 and is much faster than the stock browser.
Boost iDEN phones can't download wallpapers. You need to send them to the phone using Bluetooth. See: How To: Install Wallpaper Using Bluetooth
I cant upload anything on my sanyo incognito, keeps telling me i need handler. What is this and is this fixable??? Dnt know what to do!!!!!!! If any instructions, plain english please! Help!!!!!!!!!!
For anyone to be able to help you need to do a better job of explaining what you are trying to do.
This post is about downloading (getting apps and games from web sites to you phone) Is that what you are trying to do? If so read the instructions on the Help page.
Or are you trying to upload (send a picture, video, music etc. from the phone to a web site like Facebook)? If so what type of file are you trying to upload and to what site?
How do i get skiller 12 pack on jad
Did you try the getjar link I posted in reply to the same question you asked earlier in a comment on the Stack Match 2 post?
If GetJar says it's incompatible with your phone then Google for Skiller 12-pack. Google lists at least 12 sites that have it. Try them all until you find a site that will let you download it. If you can only find a jar use the Universal App Loader to create the jad.
i am having problems down loading programs for my phone from them using opera mini please help
Dennis I have the Incognito and there are supposedly alot of games on umnet for my phne but I cant download them. Is there going to be a way soon so I can? Thanks
It should be possible using the Universal App Loader. Instructions are on the App Loader Help page and are copied below for your convenience:
Start on the desktop Umnet desktop page at umnet.com, click "games" or "apps". Find a game or app you are interested in and click its title to bring up the page for that app or game. On the game or app page scroll down to where it says "Download ID" and write down the 6 digit number that is the download ID.
Then go to the mobile site at m.umnet.com and click "Download by ID". Enter the download ID in the text box and press the "Go" button. Right-click the "Download" link and copy it's URL and paste it into the Loader. Press the "Upload File" button. Note the Jump Code displayed on the Universal App Loader's download page.
Launch your phone's browser and go to boostapps.com/jump. Enter the Jump Code in the text box and press the "Jump" button. On the next screen click the JAD link and the app should install.
Typically fewer than one in three apps that you send to your phone will work well or at all. There's nothing that can be done about that. It's the nature of mobile Java apps that they do not all work on all phones.
Y when i download from umnet.com i get invalied jad or jar upload fail
With Umnet you have copy links from the mobile site into the Loader. The ones on the PC site won't work.
That was why I was trying to download it .
I was trying to figure out if it was copyrighted or just a reader produced parody .
I have the whole Hitchhikers series just about memorized .
Filenames with spaces should work now with the Universal App Loader and Opera Mini bookmarklet
It was Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy . But I figured it could be an incompatiblity problem too .
It looks like the actual jar file name has spaces in it and the Loader isn't handling that properly. HGTG is copyrighted so I won't be posting it here.
I'll see if I can fix the loader to handle file names with spaces correctly
Ahh , I love seeing the question answered before I ask it .
But I received a " not a valid jar file " error when trying to download an ebook from m.umnet.com with the Universal app loader bookmarklet last night .
I need to build a new pc .
m.umnet.com should work with the Loader and bookmarklet although I've seen a few jars on Umnet that were corrupted. If you can tell me the name of the eBook I'll see if it's anything I can fix.
y dont the app loader work for umnet.com
The Umnet PC site doesn't work with the Loader because it requires you to login to download. A workaround is to get a download code from the desktop Umnet desktop page at umnet.com and type it into the mobile site. (It's easiest if you have a PC but doable on the phone with the UC Browser or the Opera Mini bookmarklet):
1) On the desktop site http://umnet.com first click "games" or "apps". Find a game or app you are interested in and click its title to bring up the page for that app or game.
2) On the game or app page scroll down to where it says "Download ID" and copy or write down the 6 digit number that is the download ID.
3) Then go to the mobile site at http://m.umnet.com and click "Download by ID". Enter the download ID in the text box and press the "Go" button to get the download link.
4) Copy the link address by right-clicking the download link and choosing:
"Copy Shortcut" (Internet Explorer)
"Copy Link Location" (Firefox)
"Copy Link Address" (Chrome or Opera Desktop)
On the phone you can use the Opera Mini bookmarklet or the UC Browser: (in UC highlight the Download link, click the left softkey and choose tools > copy > selected link)
6) Open the BoostApps Universal App Loader, right-click in the text box labeled "Enter JAR or JAD URL:" and choose "Paste" and press the "Upload File" button.
Dennis - Just wanted to say thanks - I have had a Clutch i465 for the past year - I am getting a Prevail this weekend - but I would never have been able to utilize and enjoy my phone as much as I have without your website - great job. Thank you - Tony
Thanks Dennis .
I had the same problem with three different books now .
I have sent a message to the site administrator and let them know they have a problem .
It seems like those underscores on file names cause all kinds of errors on Motorola phones .
Underscores should be fine. That particular book on ManyBooks appers to have a corrupted JAR file. It doesn't work on my Rambler or a Nokia phone which usually runs just about every Java app I throw at it.
I opened the JAR with 7zip and there are no Java class files in it at all just .dat files which look like they contain the compressed book text,
It seems like manybooks.com changed the naming system of their books again . I downloaded an action thriller named Full Wolf Moon and received a verification error when installing . While looking at about on the file , the books title was Full_Wolf_Moon .
A comment I left on this site wasnt correct... Is their any way to search and edit a post or comment? Thanks for the very good advice... After all night mine is working the way I wanted It to... SMILES.
Glad you got it working. Unfortunately, there's no way to edit comments once you have left them. I deleted several of the comments you left while you were figuring it out. Sorry about that but I was afraid they would confuse other new users.
i have a sanyo ignition and am trying to get the app for a police scanner can u help
Try Getjar I think I saw a scanner app there. No idea if it would work on your phone.
I have a boost mobile sanyo mirro phone can u tell me how I can get free game downloads for this phone? Thanks
This and many other common questions is answered on the BoostApps Help Page
"
1) Visit boostapps.com with your phone's browser.
2) Find a game or app you want.
3) Click the "JAD" link below the app's description. The phone will download and install the app
"
thanks (re: the app server issue). i don't know if it's related, but my boost voicemail disappeared, and i had to have them re-enable it (2 calls - the first for 40 minutes and useless. then, i did some research, and knew what to ask for when i called back). anyway, thx for the quick response - happy easter
i could not send the most recent bolt update (2.5) to my phone - used the usual 'send to phone method', but kept getting an error message (Something went wrong while sending the file to your phone. Usually this means that you did not enter a valid 10 digit Boost or Sprint/Nextel phone number.
Please hit your browser's "Back" button and double check the phone number you entered. It should be exactly 10 numeric digits (1234567890) with no leading "1", spaces or dashes)
i have a boost iden, and have used this site for over a year (thanks, dennis).
Thanks for reporting this. I'm seeing the same thing. It looks like the Sprint server that sends apps to iDEN phones is down. These outages are usually resolved within a few hours so try again later.
Is it just my phone , or is the Opera Mini servers having problems today ?
No, I've been seeing it too. I've had a a lot of connection failures and lost cookies.
I have a question, I upgraded recently from a Motorola i680 to Sanyo Incognito. If I wanted to upload something i used Webjal or Apollo myjal. I understand there is a app loader for Sanyo Incognito that i can use? The latest firmware upgrade prevents apps from being downloaded as well as ringtones from being downloaded to the phone from the web. I know the app loader will do this.
There's no PC based loader for the CDMA phones. All the loaders for CDMA are web based. Try http://rumkin.com/tools/sprint/ or the BoostApps Universal App Loader
dennis can you get that apps called police scanner from mytinyphone.com its in jad format. My phone takes apps in jad format. But i cant get it. If you can put it n here then i can get it. Thanks
BBScanner is for BlackBerrys only. If you have a a BB you can download it from http://ota.bbscanner.com/ using the BlackBerry browser. More info at: http://www.bbscanner.com/download/
does this work on rambler
Yes but it's not needed in most cases as the Rambler can download directly from most sites including GetJar and Gamejump.
hey denis im not sure if u remember me but im havin a hell of a time findin my old post to reply to you lol. i fixed my problem with sending apps tho. just had to refresh my java. love your site tho. tons of great apps and info
Glad to hear it's working for you.
Im using Boostapps but everytime i download game to my Juno iether its not loading the full game or something else is going on bcuz it wont let me play. i have pushed every button but game will not play it jus loads screen to play but buttons dont work. Please help.
Using the loader you can only expect about one app in three to work. You will have better luck with the ones that are already posted on the site like Firby.
Loads of games use the number keys. To get them to work on the Juno, press the Fn key twice to lock the keyboard in number/symbol mode.
Now I am getting a non Boost/Nextel number error with my i465 when trying to download anything . I am using Opera Mini 4.2 though .
It's working for me at the moment. I think there might have been a temporary Sprint outage earlier.
Do the game apps work for my boost mobile samsung seek?It says error every time i put in my correct phone number.
Please read the Help Page http://boostapps.com/help/ You don't the use Send To Phone button with CDMA phones like the Seek. Instead, open BoostApps in the phone's browser go to the game and click the JAD link to install.
booksinmyphone is working again . Thanks for the quick fix Dennis .
I am having trouble installing ebooks downloaded from mobile.booksinmyphone.com using the operamini boost uploader . I keep getting a descriptor error , even with books I have downloaded before on my i465 . Is this a booksinmyphone error or change ?
I can reproduce that error, thanks for reporting it. It's caused by the wrapped-lines fix but only seems to affect BooksInMyPhone. Let me see if I can fix it
I made a fix to the Loader for BooksInMyPhone. Try it again and let me know if you're still experiencing problems.
i cant find the opera mini 5 beta 2 for cdma phones can someone tell me where its at?
As long as your phone has Java it doesn't matter if it's CDMA or GSM, the app's the same
5.0 Beta 2 is old. If you really want it it's here: http://blog.wapreview.com/7303/
In most cases you will be better off running the latest version of Opera Mini which is currently 5.1 Final .Get it at http://m.opera.com
sorry i done know if this is the right place to put this but
how do i save images on my cdma phone samsing rant from my browser. do i have to use opera mini? do i also need an sd card or can i just download it?
You can only save to SD card and I believe only with a third party browser like Opera, Bolt or UC
does this work for rambler
Yes but it's not necessary for most sites because the Rambler can download apps directly using the browser.
Im trying to find connect four
The easiest way to find someyhing on BoostApps is to use the Search box at the top of the desktop page or the bottom of the mobile version. I just searched for "connect four" and found http://boostapps.com/tag/connect-4/
You only need antivirus protection with the Android or Blackberry on Boost phones . I am not even sure if tracker cookies would work with the i465 , much less a trojan horse or virus .
I agree. Mobile virus apps for Java phones are a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. Waste or time and/or money.
I am looking for antivirus protection for my motorola i465. Does anybody where I can get some? I tried downloading a couple but they are all for symbian devices and it told me invalid url. I would prefer a free version but anything that would work on my phone would do. Thanx
Fork u,i want to edit my opera in other to upload files
Re:Umnet.com.Sometimes I have to Reset Java System also for Brothersoft Loader to work.
Re:Umnet.com
.Sometimes it works, sometimes it don't.When it don't,I end Opera (4.2),restart it,go directly to download page and it works.
Well, my odds seem to be pretty bad.
In my redownload list, everything ever tried or purchased is in there.
Easy enough as things through the uploader are numbered & when they fail, they remain on the newly purchased list ( annoying as all get out).
The count...38 tried 27 failed.
I have found the games I wanted most so as much as I'd like to contribute to resolving what this issue is...think I'm just going to bow out. Sorry.
But, besides going to links provided everywhere on your site, I had been checking these out:
http://www.mobileplayground.co.uk/uploads/v600.htm
I have 4 that worked from here.
