Mini Zork

A condensed version of the interactive fiction adventure  game Zork I, the first commercial computer adventure game, originally published in 1980 for the Apple][ and Radio Shack TRS-80.

Zork is set in a huge underground labyrinth filled with treasures and man eating grues and trolls . The goal of the game is to find and enter the “Great Underground Empire” and emerge alive with the 20 treasures of Zork.

The game runs in the open source ZeeME Zcode interperter. Zork and hundreds of other interactive fiction games are written in ZCode. Visit the author’s site for for instructions for getting other games into ZeeME, which requires a PC.

  1. i not install in my phone

    • What brand and model of phone?

  2. Maybe this game is awesome i will download

  3. Zork 0,2,and 3 dennis? -thank you for ur contributions also.

  4. I’m bummed that the inventory doesn’t work. In the white house, I don’t know what the GLASS BOTTLE contains. Oh, and don’t eat the garlic.

  5. Zork, and one of the other interactive text games (Space Pirates) which I used the repackager on, both work on my Innuendo, with the exception that when the game is supposed to present a list of items after a ‘:’, as in the output of an INVENTORY command, the output after the ‘:’, ie, the actual list of items, does not apear.

Zork should be playable in spite of this if the player can keep track of everything he picks up and drops. Piracy, however, has as one of these lists the contents of the Captain’s computer screen (Menu options:) which unless you have knowledge of the game from elsewhere, renders the game unplayable as the menu options don’t show up and it’s impossible to have any clue as to what commands to enter.

  6. sorry cheap phone and cap loks stuck on most the time wasnt yelling but thanx

  7. HOW DO U LOAD SAVED GAME I TRIED RESTORE AND ITS SAYS OK BUT EVERYTHING I TRY AFTER THAT IT JUST RESPONDS BEG UR PARDON?

    • I just woke up. Why are you YELLING at me?
It doesn’t sound like you are doing anything wrong. Try a command that works anywhere like “look around” if that doesn’t work then the save and restore feature is broken on your phone.
