UC Browser 7.8
The UC Browser has been upgraded to version 7.8. According to UC, the new features in this release include:
- “View Image Mode” – zoom images and view original size images
- 30% faster page loads
- New “remember current page” and “clear all browsing history” options when closing the browser
- Close current window with one click using the right softkey
- You can now switch to the main menu while a page is loading
I tested UC 7.8 on the Motorola Rambler (it doesn’t work on the iDEN phones).
As with UC Browser 7.7, inline editing doesn’t work correctly with the Rambler’s QWERTY keyboard (there’s no way to type uppercase letters and the “Q” and “P” keys act like the left and right soft keys). It’s not possible to disable inline editing either. You have to press the left softkey and choose “Edit” or “Symbol/Paste” on each field to switch to full-screen.
At least the bug in 7.7 where switching to fullscreen edit turned on caps-lock is fixed.

Still trying to figure it out will let you know when i find out for shure
They said it was a charge from uc and if not paid in two days they would shut off service to phone still trying to contact uc on this
Very strange, I’ve downloaded multiple versions of the UC Browser and have never been charged. I don’t see how UC would even be able to determine your phone number in order to bill it to you.
Warning just downloaded it and they charged 10 dollars and change to my boost account the phone is a samsung factor
Except for the games and apps that Boost sells Boost does not charge fro downloading apps. The $10 charge is for something else. Call Boost or check your online account records to see what.
Also, the description says you can’t type uppercase letters. You can. I know with the Incognito, you just have to hold down the Shift key (not just click it) for a little while AS you click whatever letter key. Maybe this works for other cells, too.
Thanks for sharing this discovery. It should help other Incognito users. FWIW, holding down Caps while typing on the Ramber has no effect, still types l/c characters.
I really do like this browser. It’s faster than the browser that came with the phone (although I still like that one, too), I can input info in UC that I couldn’t in my regular browser (for ex. I copied & pasted updated resumés-already uploaded from my computer- AND emailed them thru the jobsite I use). I can also download stuff straight to my cell! Before, I had to send from a computer. Some things are iffy, but not enough for me to mention. Great app!
