MujMail
The best general purpose email program for iDen phones I’ve seen yet. It’s quite full featured and supports POP and IMAP with SSL, HTML mail which it displays as plain text and viewing attachments.
The best thing about MujMail is that it connects directly to your Gmail, Hotmail or ISP mail server. Lt2Mail and Pico mail connect to their own servicers. There are potential security risks in that, plus if their servers go down or the companies go out of business you lose your mail service. MujMail should always work.
I tested MujMail with Gmail and it works using the following settings:
On the mail account setup page:
Email: Your full Gmail address ([email protected], for example)
Protocol: IMAP4
SSL: Use SSL
SSLtype: Use mujMail SSL
Server: imap.gmail.com
Port: 993
User name: Your full Gmail email address
Password: Your Gmail password
On the SMTP tab, highlight SMTP, press Edit and set the following:
SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com
SMTP SSL: Use SSL
SSLtype: Use mujMail SSL
SMTP Port: 465
SMTP User name: Your full Gmail email address
SMTP password: Your Gmail password.
If you get a DNS error sending or recieving mail check that there isn’t a trailing space on either of the server addresses.
MujMail should work with other email services that support POP or IMAP like Hotmail (settings here) or AIM/AOL Mail (settings here). I have not tested these services or settings, however.
MujMail is supposed to support IMAP idle (push email) and SMTP email polling (checking for new mail every 5 minutes ) and sound a tone when you have new mail. However this feature did not seem to work for me and I had to manually retrieve mails.

mujMail now spontaniously deletes the imap account entry for my gmail account, while not responding to my selecting the INBOX.
Sent a test email to myself with a 360k jpeg out of the phone’s camera directory. It went up without a hitch.
Om downloading, I got the message body, but around the 300k mark it complained that the database was full. ?? I still have around 3 meg of space left. Showed the attachment as 0 bytes.
Still using that crappy text input API function with no way to enter a linefeed.
At least no ads like the other two mail clients.
AFAIK it doesn’t work for free Yahoo Mail accounts. It you have a paid Yahoo Pro account the settings in the link that vurt posed should work.
