Nimbuzz 1.6
Nimbuzz released version 1.6 of their multi-protocol IM client for Java phones a couple of days ago.
Supported networks are the same as in version 1.5, Windows Live Messenger, Skype, Yahoo, Facebook, Google Talk, AIM, MySpace, ICQ, Twitter, studiVZ, shuelerVZ, Gadu-Gadu and Hyves.
It seems to start up a little faster than 1.5 and do a better job of staying connected to Facebook. Other than that I don’t see much difference. Off line Facebook friends are still listed in the buddy list as numbers instead of by name and the OK button and the soft keys are still mapped incorrectly.
Because of the messed up key mappings you need to:
1. Use the green “Call” key as the “OK” key
2. Use the right soft key for the left soft key’s action
3. Use the menu key for the right soft key‘s action
4. Exception : When entering text in native pop up windows, the soft keys (labeled OK and Cancel) work as labeled.
Type: Freeware
Vendor: Nimbuzz
Data Connection Required: Yes
Supported iDEN phones: All Falcon Series (i776, i465, i9, i290, etc.)
Downloading uses paid data. Downloads are for Java ME phones only.

Has anyone out there figured out how to make this work with facebook? DO TELL…
why cant I send a file or a picture through nimbuzz… my phone is a T-mobile Tap and everytime I select a file to send this message pops up “oops and unknown error ocurred” can someone help me?????
I tried Mig33. Yahoo worked but Facebook would not connect. So I took it off I use Facebook, Yahoo, MySpace, and Twitter. I wanted to find an app that AT LEAST would connect with Facebook and Yahoo. If it can’t do at least those two there’s no need for me to have it. I loved how it worked with yahoo it just won’t work with facebook. Is there not an app out there that will work with all the social networks?
I don’t find any of the IM apps useful with Facebook or Twitter. I use http://tweete.net and http://m.facebook.com in Opera Mini for Twitter and Facebook respectively.
Out off all the ones listed which one is the best? I won’t download one until I get a suggestion. I heard someone say they like Migg33 better. Is this the one to go with? I don’t want to waste my time with something that dosen’t work smoothly.
PS: I have a i465.
Not sure what you mean a by “all the ones listed” as there’s only Nimbuzz 1.6 listed on this page.
If you mean of all the IM apps on BoostApps, it really depends on which networks you use and which set of bugs annoy you the least.
I prefer Nimbuzz Lite because it’s the only one besides Nimbuzz Full that supports the networks I use (Skype and Google Talk) and it’s smaller and loads faster (but still slowly) than Nimbuzz Full. If I didn’t need Skype I’d probably use Mig33 as it’s much faster to load then Nimbuzz.
thank yOU Dennis. i will give the fun key option a try (cell only internet resources since computer stolen) & i’ll let u know.
