Nimbuzz 1.9
Thanks to Cornell J for alerting me that Nimbuzz has been updated. It’s now up to version 1.9 (there was a short-lived 1.83 that I missed).
The biggest change for iDEN users is that the key mapping issues that plagued earlier versions have been mostly fixed. The OK button still doesn’t work (press Call in place of OK) and in some of the menus the right soft key (labeled “Back”) doesn’t do anything and you have to press the Menu key instead. But everywhere else in the app the soft keys seem to be labeled correctly.
The new version also seems to start up faster and load the contact list more quickly. Supported communities are Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo, Facebook Chat, Google Talk, AIM, MySpace, Twitter and Hyves.

I just tried loading both versions on my Samsung Seek and neither will let me get beyond the select Language section of the site. Is there something I can do OR does someone know another way to download Google Talk to a Samsung Seek for Boost Mobile?
There are several other Google Talk clients you can try at http://boostapps.com/tag/gtalk/ I don’t have a Seek so I can’t ell you if any of them work but the odds are good that at least one does.
Dennis- this is Sophie once again Iam still looking for a better phone- just one questio? What Boost Mobile cellphones are not LOW MENORY-I would love your IMPUT!
For running apps the memory that matters is called the Java Stack. The only ones I know for sure are:
8 MB Motorola Rambler
4 MB – i9 and 856
2 MB – all the other iDEN phones (i776, i465, i290, etc) except maybe the i475 which I have no data on
Based on their good app performance the Sanyo Incognito and Innuendo seem to have plenty of Java Heap (at least 4MB) and I suspect that most of the CDMA phones do as well.
It was working great on my i465 for a few days. I tried to use it yesterday and it says connection failure. tried it in different areas thinking that maybe it was because of my service and still the same result. i turned the phone off and on, and i reset java but still nothing. any suggections?
the only way i have found to solve this problem is to uninstall and reinstall the app every 3 days. its extremely annoying.
I wasn’t able to enter the security code, using the Nimbuzz app, from a Sanyo Incognito. Nimbuzz’s wap site – http://wap.nimbuzz.com/wap – allowed me to create an account using Bolt mobile browser. The page seemed to load fine in the phone’s built-in browser, too.
I was creating my account and everything was going fine until I got to the antibot security code . Why they thought they needed that on a app I will never know . But on my i465 despite all the tricks , I could not enter the correct code .
If you can sign up at Nimbuzz.com with a PC, there’s no security code needed on the app if your using an existing Nimbuzz id and password.
