  1. i have samsung e2252. but why 4.5 operamini can support.

    • No need to ask why, just be happy it works.

  2. I can't download opera mini 4.5 and I wanna know why?

    • What happens when you try, do you get an error message? What does it say. What phone are you using?

  3. Server new?

  4. how do i change screen from UPPER to lower case /

    • That depends on the phone. It should be the same as with any other app on that phone. QWERTY phones usually have a CAPS key for changing case. On phones with a number pad, a long press on either the * or # key usually changes case.

    • THIS OPERA SYSTEM IS IN MY CAR STEREO ITS WORKING VIA A 02 DONGLE ,IT HAS A QWERTY KEYPAD PLUS STAR/HASH/DOT/@/:/+/-/SPACE/AND A BACK SPACE/AND A /
THATS IT NO CAPS LOCK, NO ENTER ,NO UP POINTING ARROWS
ABOVE THE KEYPAD 3 LOGOS PAPER CLIP-CHAIN - COG WHEEL,

PS THE STEREO IS A ERISIN 7050 G UK EVERYTHING ELSE ON IT WORKS FINE
      CHEERS NICK

    • That sounds like a custom version of Opera Mini for Erisin. You could try contacting them using the phone numbers, email address or online chat on their site at http://www.erisin.com/contact_us.html

  5. plz,How can I edit the original server of the opera mini symbian (http://mini5.opera-mini.net:80)

    • I've never done it but I think I saw some tutorials on the web. Try doing a web search for "change symbian opera mini server"

  6. i am trying to download opera but i cant get anything sent to my phone, i changed my number now when i send myself emails through my phone it shows up as the old number sometimes and new number sometimes. but i cannot reply to either number. i have played with boost on-line and using other phones to call hopefully to fix my problem unfortunately it reverts back to same problem. how can i download this with a problem like mine? (like mentioned i have called boost several times without lasting results.)

    • Please read the Help page which explains how to get apps on Boost phones. Unless you have an iDEN phone, you down "send" apps to the phone, you download them using the phone's browser.

  7. Do u kw of any app dat watch video like bolt

    • I haven't found any video streaming apps that work on Boost feature phones. But you can watch YouTube and other online mobile videos in the browser on the Innuendo, Incognito, Rant, KRZR and Rambler.

  8. [...] Posted by des1109 anyone have a link for install offline opera mini 6.1 ?... Opera Mini 6.1 | boostapps 6.5 sucks I went back to 6.1 Liked [...]

  9. Hey dennis the last update for opera was way bak in july do u kno if there is a new update coming or wat ? Thanks

    • 6.1 is the latest Java release. 6.5 for Android came out a few weeks ago so I expect we will see 6.5 Java by year end. Opera typically only does one or two releases a year.

  10. Get a download failed with 907 Invalid JAR
Error!: control flow verification information too large: j on my blackberry curve

    • You need to use the BlackBerry version of Opera Mini. Go to http://m.opera.com with the BlackBerry browser to get it.

  13. My apologies I see my msgs on here are repetive... Sorry.. This is weird but probably cause my cache repeats it cause I keep switching from inline to fullscreen to add returns? Or its that blasted auto refresh on here whenIII break out of editing to save the msg it does this auto refresh. That sometimes erases my name and enail and I have to re enter that.. Sorry!

    • I cleaned up you last comment to remove the duplicate paragraphs. Thank's for adding the line feeds, BTW. It makes it so much easier to read and edit

As far as your Incognito text entry problems go, I don't have an Incognito to test with so beyond telling you how it works on the Rambler there's not much I can do to help. Maybe someone who has have the Incognito can chime in with some tips.

Also you could try Bolt and UC Browser they might be better though I doubt it. With Bolt on the Rambler in inline editing only the number keys work. UC works about the same as Opera except for that the Q and P keys which function only as left and right soft keys!

  14. LOL, I know what you mean Dennis about the RETURN key...

My problem is the shift key handles the various capatilization modes like Abc ABC abc... Problem is when Im using fullscreen mode online Im unable to change this!!! I need another Incognito user to help me find the mapping for that key cause its not what the manual says! The shift key ONLY changes the mode using the native browser or built in text app on my Incognito.. Im STUCK in lowercase abc mode on my lower right hand screen in my fullscreen!!! Help!

How can I do it using Opera or any other java app that uses fullscreen mode???

If IIIm using the browser and not fullscreen III can use fn key wih s key to change the mode. But II gotta go fullscreen to add the returns and paragraphs. If I did it in browser (inline mode) it will place me outside the message editor online here sorta like where my cursor can then scroll to the bottom to ad my name and email then submit msg.. Do you understand what IIm trying to say Dennis???

Im struggling to learn this cause II love this new phone but its not a Motorola that Im used to. The keys arent mapped right and IIII really need another IIncognito User who uses opera to tell me what key(s) are pressed to change the caps mode in fullscreen online. I tried your tricks but had to trial and error to get this far.. I wish Motorola made this phone at least its mapped pretty good key wise. Never had a problem with caps on that.. Sigh.. I need help badly.. Sigh..wer right hand screen in my fullscreen!!! Help!

  15. Dennis. Thank you I kinda suspected this. I cant use the the # key with the fn key using the inline editor while using Opera as this will bring up the global commands of the # key menu within Opera. Im fine using the iine editor while typoing this msg online. But if I go fullscreen mode I must hold the shift key down while I type the letters which I think is kinda stupid cause its acting like a computer in that respect. Im typing with my thumbs and if Im using a letter near the shift key Ive got to hold that down with my left thumb while reaching all the way over with my right thumb to press the letter to be capitalized!!! Ive found the fn and j keys do the ! Where it shows a comma on my keyboard. Ive used every program from Picomail to Mini notepad and any program that you use fullscreen mode. Theres no way to change the upper/lower case unless you hold down that shift key! So fullscreen mode ONLY works well when you use the built in text mode or the native browser!!! That sucks... Ive tinkered aroind with this for a week now.. I love Opera I guess Im gonna have to avoid the fullscreen mode when online or in a java app. I will have to memorize the keys for the upper/lower which is the fn key and s and a couple of other mis mapped keys for the inline editor. The caps commands dont toggle in fullscreen mode while using a Java app as well as Opera. My mini notebook is now a pain since Ive got to hold the shift key down to make a capital letter. I guess no one noticed this with their Incognito??? Acting like a computer in that respect. • Some more tricks to try (these work on my Ramber so hopefully on your Incognito too.)
In fullscreen mode the Caps key toggles between Abc (1st letter capitalized) ABC (caps lock) and abc (lower case) the current mode is shown in hard to read light grey on the right side of the first line.

Instead of holding down Caps, I can press and release caps and the following letter will be capitalized. Same with Fn.

Does the return key not work? Because it's awfully hard to read comments typed as one huge paragraph like the one above. A new line every now and then would sure help :)

  16. Ive already posted on the forums about this.. Dennis IVE got a brand new Incognito.. My keys for upper\lower case commands as well as some character keys like apostrophies and exclamation ppoints arent mapped to the phones keyboard.. The native browser and built in text app are ok. Its only when I use Opera and also Picomail has the same exact mapping issue.. Ive memorized some of the char inputs so I can use both of these. My question to you is.. Is this normal not having characters mapped correctly using these two apps: Opera 6.1 and Picomail 2.0???

    • Yes, key mapping issues are common on all Java QWERTY phones. The Java specs don't define QWERTY keycodes and every vendor seems to go their own way creating a nightmare for app developers.

In Opera Mini on my Rambler there are some workarounds that may also work on the Incognito.
      1. When you are in a text field and want to type some unsupported characters do a long press on the center OK button and choose fullscreen edit. Everything should work in fullscreen edit. You can also make fullscreen edit the default in Settings > Advanced.
      2. To type a capital letter in the inline editor (not fullscreen edit where the caps key works normally) press and release Fn, then press and release #, then press the letter you want to be in uppercase.
      3. To type a number in the inline editor, press and release Fn and then do a long press on the number key.

I don'tr use PicoMail but some of these might work with it too.

  17. Won't download to my boost blackberry curve 8330..tried both links (jad, jar)starts to dl then just says"download failed" oh well thanks anyway

  20. I have both 6.0 and 5.3 on my phone. I would like to move all use to 6 - or 6.1 - and preserve the Bookmarks from 5.3.

I have identified the directories containing the two Opera apps, but can't tell which file is the Bookmark file; and the files in the two directories are named slightly differently.

I got 5.3 from this website and 6.0 directly from the Opera site.

What's the best way to go about this?

    • 5.3? No such animal, I guess you mean 4.3.

Anyway the bookmarks are stored in the RMS (Java database) file along with a lot of other things (history, saved passwords and much more). The RMS from one version is incompatible with the one from another version so copying it would just break the app.

The way to do it is with Opera Link. If you aren't already using Opera Link, first synchronize 4.3 with Opera Link. Then sync 6.0 with Opera Link and all your bookmarks should automatically appear. *Warning* this will delete any existing bookmarks you added to 6.0 manually.

If you are already using Opera Link on 6.0 it gets tricky as enabling Link on the 4.3 phone will wipe out any existing bookmarks on the 4.3 instance. There's probably a workaround for this using multiple Link accounts but I haven't experimented with doing that.

  21. oh but why does it not work on my i465

    • Hard to say exactly, probably there's too little Java heap memory on the phone.

  22. it does not work on the motorola i1 or i465

    • The Android version of Opera Mini 6.1 (from the Android Market) works very well on my i1. The one here is for Java phones not Android.

  23. socket and http rather

    • Yes, Opera says the app will detect whether http or socket is better and use the right one. We will see :)

    • ok thanks

  24. is it just me or opera mini 6.1 is missing the socket and html protocol?

  25. opera 6.0 crashed my innuendo, will this crash, also?

    • The only way to find out is to try it. Lots of people use Opera Mini 6.0 on the Innuendo with no problems. Trying to open too many tabs in Opera Mini can cause the phone to reboot.
