Pico Mail 2.1
PicoMail has been upgraded to version 2.1. There are no obvious changes so I can’t say what’s new in this version athough I suspect that there are some performance and stability enhancements.
PicoMail is a fast, free (ad-supported) POP, SMTP, IMAP email program for Java phones that works with most email providers. It features simple account configuration. For major email services including Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo Mail you just need to enter your email address and password and PicoMail takes care of all the complicated POP or IMAP settings.
PicoMail provides unlimited email accounts, viewing of Word, Excel, PDF, WordPerfect, video and image attachments, HTML email (reformatted as a single column) , images, including PNG, GIF, JPEG, BMP and TIFF formats, security via SSL, keyword search and automatic spam filtering.

For some reason it cannot read picture messages . I tried using an attachment , but it did not display a gif . I saved the gif , but when I opened it , picomail displayed only the first frame .
I am not sure there would be a work around for the i465 .
PicoMail can display most every image format (GIF, JPG, BMP, TIFF, PNG, …), so perhaps the webserver is mis-identifying the content of the message/page. Per animated GIFs, PicoMail will only display the first frame of an animated GIF, however version 2.2 (due out in the next few weeks) adds support for animated GIFs, so you’ll be able to view all frames, not just the first one.
i could not view a gif or jpg
the jpg was taken on phone and sent to email then opened from email
i465 could not in pico mail
By the way , I would recommend to remove PicoMail 2.0 before downloading 2.1 . Otherwise you will need to highlight PicoMail 2.0 , then press the menu key , select update then select remove old program .
But, if you install 2.1 over 2.0 you don’t need to renter you account credentials
I find that PicoMail 2.1 downloads html emails much faster on my i465 . It probably uses the same features as PicoWeb for that .
Congratulations on a fine products PicoWireless .
Changes from 2.0 -> 2.1 include:
– New “Enable grouping consecutive links into ‘(N) links’ button” setting (default: on) that, when enabled, collapses several consecutive hyperlinks in an HTML web page or email message behind a single, displayed, button. This option helps naviagting past large groups of links that aren’t particularly relevant to the main content of the page.
– Set the priority (High, Normal, Low) of an SMS/MMS message.
– SMS/MMS to an email address in addition to a phone number.
– New “Confirm deletions” setting (default: on) that toggles whether or not a confirmation message is displayed when a delete operation is performed. This option affects all delete operations within app.
– Improved HTML content layout.
– Numerous optimizations to improve the speed of app.
– Numerous bug fixes.
Thanks for the changelog Roger
