UC Browser 8.6
The UC Browser has been updated again to version 8.6. This is the “Full” version of the browser, not the slightly smaller and supposedly faster “Cloud” version. I don’t really see any difference in features or performance between the two versions but if you want the latest, here it is.
New features in 8.6 according to UC:
1. Full Offline Download Supported: support complete offline download function, with synchronous status shown in the download manager.
2. Preview Images Before Uploading: now you can preview the images before uploading.
3. Return of the “clear all history ” option before exiting UC Browser
4. Virtual Keyboard Optimization: you can select the on/off options of the virtual keyboard.
5. Upload Optimization: the uploading function has been speeded up,and you can see the speed value (in KB ) when uploading.
This version uses the new user interface from the cloud version with different menus for touch screen and non touch screen phones.

Dennis sir, the software you recommended does not support Symbian OS by Nokia…..i did not found any compatible with my Nokia C6 and sir I dont think I would be able to subscribe to the different site updates on mobile with a software…..if you can please help out, then i would be honored.
There are three versions of Google Reader. They all work in the Symbian browser on my Nokia N8. I suspect they will work on the C6 as well.
1. http://www.google.com/reader/m/view/ – This is a basic WAP site that works in all browsers. It’s not possible to subscribe to a new feed in this version
2. http://www.google.com/reader/i/ – This is the “Touch” or iPhone version, it works perfectly in the Symbian browser and allows you to add feeds
3. http://www.google.com/reader/view/?ui=wii – This is desktop version in single column mode, I prefer this one for reading feeds on the phone as it shows the full text of all items in a feed for quick reading without any extra clicks. Adding feeds only seems to work on a PC, the complex JavaScript confuses mobile browsers.
All three versions also work in Opera Mobile, 1 and 2 work in Opera Mini and 1 in UC Browser.
There are a couple of bookmarklets at http://m.opera.com that let you add the current site’s feed to Google Reader with just a couple of clicks from within Opera Mobile, Opera Mini or the Symbian Browser
It totally disappointed with just one main feature missing that is the most of today’s generation first need thats being in touch with updates of different sites, i mean to refer to rss feeds. You cannot subscribe to any rss feed in any site in UC browser, if any genius have any trick do help me out i would feel proud to call you genius. 🙂 you can also mail me:-)
I recomend using Google Reader for RSS feeds. Way better than readers built into browsers because Google Reader works in any browser mobile or PC.
high mark 4 UC
I was able to download and install this from Boostapps. It was the only way I could install it on my LG Rumor Reflex. Works fine and as well as Opera Mini. Just wish that when ever I view Youtube vids through UC Browser or Opera Mini, that when the video ends, it would NOT jump all the way to Boost Mobile HOME SCREEN on this phone. Very frustrating as I have to go through all the menus to get back to Youtube. I never had this problem with my Sanyo Incognito. It would stay on YOUTUBE. Now tempted to DOWN grade from my LG Rumor Reflex and go back to my Sanyo Incognito. I’ve tried everything but it always goes back to the Boost Home Screen on this phone. 🙁
After the video ends, try this:
Tap Home > Main Menu > My Stuff > Application Manager
Do you see the name of the browser (UC or Opera) that you started the video from?
If you do tap it and choose “Bring to foreground” and you should be back in YouTube.
If the browser doesn’t show in the Application Manager let me know, I may be able to add a line to the app’s jad file to keep the app from closing
Hi Dennis, (thank you for getting back to me) Yes, I can go through all those steps to get back to Youtube : from Boost Mobile Home Screen I can tap on : Home> Main Menu> My Stuff> Application Manager> then tap Bring to foreground and I am back to Youtube. It’s almost the same as from Boost Mobile Home Screen tap on: Home>Main Menu>My Stuff> Applications>Opera Mini>Run then I am back to Youtube right away. It’s just frustrating to go through all those steps to get back to Youtube when I never had to with the Sanyo Incognito. I’m not sure if it is the OS : Brew MP version S/W LG272ZV6 or if that is just how Boost Mobile has set up this phone? I was wondering if there is just a Jad/Jar Youtube App that I can put on this phone and wonder if it then would stay on Youtube or would it also jump all the way back to Boost Mobile Home screen. I really like this phone but I really miss how my Sanyo Incognito phone worked with Youtube.
still not working on incognito. I’ll stick with 8.4 until they fix bugs. hope they fix udisk for all versions. opera 4.4 & uc 8.4 still tops for incognito.
