FoxyTag – Detect Police Radar and Traffic Light Cameras
This app is supposed to use the phone’s GPS to warn you of nearby police speed radars and traffic light cameras. The data comes from other FoxyTag users and you are asked to contribute by reporting any speed traps and traffic light cameras that you see. The app installs on my i776 and the GPS, data connection and sound all work.
Registration at www.foxytag.com/en/registration.html is required to use the app. You also have to send a text with the words “FOXYTAG reg oln” to +41793816010 which is a number in Switzerland as part of the registration process. I registered on the site and sent the text and got the email within a couple of minutes. And Boost didn’t charge me anything extra for the international text. Correction: I’m on Pay As You Go and was charged the normal 10 cents for the text. Unlimited users are charged 10 cents for sending an international text.
I haven’t taken this out on the road yet so I have no idea how effective it actually s.

I have international on top of unlimited which boost dropped to 5 bucks a month.(limited time)it is pay as you go without it.
You mentioned that Boost didnt charge you for the text message. You must have gotten lucky because they charged me. I just happened to be checking out my account and noticed that charge of 10 cents for a “multi media message”. The time and date are the same as when I sent the text to Foxytag.
Its only a dime so Im not really complaining, just an FYI post. 🙂
Take care,
Jim
I said they didn’t charge extra. The 10 cent charge is normal on Pay as You Go, texts are only free on Unlimted.
I have unlimited.
Okay il try it thank u so much.
i have the i856 and i tried but at the registration website it says error with the international number. wat should i do. i tried putting a 1 before the number but it said error again
You need to put +1 in front of the number on the registration site and also when you send the SMS. So if your number is 123-456-7890 you enter +11234567890
you have to put the plus (+) in the number +1
Installed & works fine on my i856 but requires dedication to enter local spots, best in the form of a passenger as you have to enter cameras before you pass them and if youre not spot on you are on the not trusted list.given languages listed it may take awhille to be effective in your area.
