Nimbuzz 1.97

Version 1.97 of the Nimbuzz instant messaging app has been released. According to the Nimbuzz, the new features in this release are:

  • Location Sharing: Now you can send your location or receive your friend’s location on Nokia ASHA devices.
  • Invite Friends to Chatrooms: You can now invite your Nimbuzz Friends to join your favorite chatrooms.
  • Search for Friends: Allows you to search your friends on Nimbuzz. You can enter name, email or Nimbuzz ID as search criteria.
  • Quick access to Group Chat / Group Message & Change Password
  • Easier and Faster login to Nimbuzz
  • Fixed a few bugs.
  • Improved support for Nokia Full Touch and Touch & Type devices.
  • Improved overall performance.
Like every other version of Nimbuzz I tried, Nimbuzz 1.9.7 runs on my Motorola Rambler but there are some serious key mapping issues that make it very difficult to use:
The left softkey doesn’t work. The right softkey works as the left softkey
The OK button doesn’t work but the 5 key functions as an OK button.
There’s no way to perform the Back, Cancel or No actions that the right softkey is supposed to be used for
This version gets a Class Verification error and fails to install on my Motorola i776 iDEN phone.
