Opera Mini 4.5

Opera Software has released Opera Mini 4.5 which is an upgrade to and replaces Opera Mini 4.4. It’s a lightweight Java ME proxy browser for older and low end feature phones that can’t run Opera Mini 7.1. The new release is Opera Mini 4.5 and it replaces Opera Mini 4.4 in the company’s lineup. Compared with its predecessor, Mini 4.5 adds:

• A new download Manager from borrowed from Opera Mini 7.1 with  support for downloading multiple files simultaneously and pausing and resuming downloads.
• Better touchscreen support including kinetic (“flick”) scrolling and more room around links, buttons and checkboxes to make them easier to tap.
• A new private browsing option that hides your activity from the browser history and download history and deletes, cookies, cache and passwords when you exit private browsing.
• New skins including a new light default skin

This version seems to fix a big in 4.4  that caused text to “tear” and become ugly and unreadable when scrolling on my LG Rumor Reflex. On the Rumor Reflex, the keyboard doesn’t work with the default settings. Turn on “Auto-complete address input” in the Settings menu to fix the keyboard.
