UC Browser 8.2 Beta
This is the latest version of the UC Browser, released March 15. Here’s a list of the changes since the last version, 8.0.
1. Smoother – Although this version is 20 KB larger than the last version, it’s optimized to run more smoothly and use less memory.
2. Share current page to Facebook – (Menu>Actions>Share>By Facebook).
3. Find in page – (Menu>Tools>Find in page) , lets you can find words and phrases in the current page.
4. Clipboard – copy multiple selections and choose which one to paste. Edit/Delete clipboard contents (Menu>Tools>Clipboard>Menu>Edit, Delete, Delete all.
5. Save pages for latter reading (memory card required)
6. Shortcuts for QWERTY phones:
[Y] Switch tab [J] Open in New [V] Back
[N] Forward [R] Context Menu [U] Reload
[I] New tab [M] Home [Backspace] Close current tab
[Space] Move Right/Page Down [T] Up [B] Down
[ F] Move Left [H] Move Right/Page Down [G] OK
This version runs very well on my Motorola Rambler. It seems faster than previous versions and also faster than Opera Mini. The QWERTY keyboard shortcuts work well and are much more faster than going through the menus.
Like 8.0 it’s still a Beta (7.9 is the latest production version) and features a further refinement of the new user interface introduced in the 8.0. It’s still missing a few of the standard features of the UC Browser 7.9 and earlier including the option to remember the last page on exit and restore it when UC is restarted.

ATTENTION DENNIS: I have been looking through the various downloads & other mobile add ons here at this site. As for myself I am not to knowledgable about the capabilities of my phone although I have had it for over 6 months now. I wanted to ask what is the pros & cons of downloading a new browser instead of keeping the one provided to me by Boost? I currently have the Access Netfront 3.5.1 as my browser on a Sanyo Innuendo SCP-6780 phone which I can assume is probably very slow considering how this page has a 8.2 version of its browser. Anyway whatever info that can be provided to me about the benefits of changing a mobile browser will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your consideration.
Downloading a browser such as UC Browser wil not replace your built in NetFront browser. You will have two browsers. The built in browser will still be used for certain actions like installing apps and watching videos.
Advantages of UC Browser: Much faster, able to load pages of any size, can optionally impersonate a desktop browser so sites will usually serve the desktop versions of sites instead of the mobile ones, multiple tabs, copy & paste, download manager with pause and resume, shortcut keys for page up/down/, refresh, open link in new tab, etc.
Disadvantages of UC Browser: Facebook and some Google sites may think you are in a different country and require you to verify your identity by answering a security question or typing in a captcha code the 1st time you visit with UC, entering capital letters, numbers and punctuation may be more cumbersome.
works like a dream for the first page. After that, the next page “loads” but the screen never changes. I’m using the Sanyo Innuendo
Want ur expert opinion before i download the app. Do u think this one is better than version 8 beta because i have an Incognito and it works like a dream for it. Couple of glitches in 8, wouldnt let me log in to my e-mail account thru it. I mean it would let me log in but once i click on my inbox i would end up right back to the login screen again! Endless cycle on that one! Same applied to yahoo as well. And it also took me a while to upload pics onto facebook. Couple minutes per pic. That sound normal? So for those issues u use opera mini next as a backup app if im uploading pics or wanting to login for email but i still use UC 8 beta as my main web app beacause it loads much faster i love the full screen look it has
I don’t have an Incognito, but 8.2 is faster than 8.0 on my Motorola Rambler. It’s also easier to use due to the new QWERY keyboard shortcuts and has some useful new features, especially the clipboard and find in page.
I don’t know if photo upload speed has improved as the Rambler doesn’t have a memory card so it can’t upload to Facebook with UC or Opera.
If you don’t like 8.2 you can always go back to 8.0.
