Here are some answers to frequently asked questions about using this site

Q. How do I know if I have a Boost Mobile or Nextel iDEN phone or something else?

A. If your phone is a Motorola and has a model number starting with the letter "i" followed by 1 to 3 digits like i290, i335, i465, i856 and i9 it is an iDEN phone.  Anything else is not an iDEN phone

Q. How do I use this site to send games and apps to my Boost Mobile iDEN or Nextel USA Motorola phone?

A. Visit BoostApps.com with your PC or phone browser. Find a game or app you want to try. Click the "Send to Phone" button under the app's description.

On the next page enter your 10 digit Boost/Nextel Phone Number.  Just the 10 numbers starting with the area code. with no spaces, dashes or dots, just numbers and press the "Send to Phone" button.  The next page will have detailed instructions for completing the installation on your phone.

Q. I have a Boost Incognito, Mirro, Rant, Bali, Juno,  Seek, Rambler, Factor or KRZR or some other Boost phone that's not a iDen phone. Can I get the games and apps on BoostApps.com on my phone?

A. Those are Boost CDMA phones.  Most of the games and apps here should work on them. Here's how to install them:

For those phones don't  use the "Send to Phone" button to install apps. It won't work. Instead:

If you are viewing this page on a PC:

3. On the next page enter the Jump Code in the text box and press the "Jump" button which you take you to the app's download page.

If you are viewing this page on your phone

1) Use the search box or categories at the bottom of every page on the site to find the a game or app you want.

2) Click the "JAD" link below the app's description. The phone will download and install the app

Also visit m.getjar.com with your phone's browser for a much larger selection of games and apps, many of which work on non-iDEN phones.

Q. I have a Motorola i1, Samsung Transform Ultra, ZTE Warp, LG Marquee or Samsung Galaxy Prevail Android phone.  Will the apps on BoostApps work on it?

A. No, but don't feel bad, there are many more and much better free apps in the Play Store (formerly Android Market) on the phone. Tap the Play or Market icon on the phone to get started downloading.

Q. I have a BlackBerry, can I use these games and apps

A. The apps on this site are intended for Boost's non-smartphones. Some of them work on BlackBerrys but many don't. The best sources for BlackBerry apps are BlackBerry App World and this big list of free BlackBerry software.

Q. I sent an app to my iDEN phone but it never appeared under "New Purchases" in "Download Apps". What went wrong and how can I fix it.

A. The most likely cause is that you entered your phone number incorrectly.  Try again and remember to enter the number with no dashes or spaces, just ten numbers starting with the area code.  Do not put a "1" in front of the number.

If your Boost account is new, downloading will not work until up to 7 days after activation.

Q. I got a "Java Error" while installing on my iDEN phone how can I fix this?

A. When this happens, find the new app in the Java Apps menu.  It will have a generic looking icon with an X or downward pointing arrow on it.  Select the app and press "OK".  It will start installing again only this time it will list the steps of the install on the screen. Wait for it to fail and then take note of which which step it failed on:

If the error occurs during the "Loading Classes" or "Validating classes" part of the install it means that the app is not compatible with your phone and will never work. All apps on BoostApps have been tested on a Motorola i776. They generally work on all iDEN phones but some are not compatible with certain models.
