Nimbuzz 1.72
Nimbuzz released version 1.72 of their multi-protocol IM client for Java phones a couple of days ago. Unlike 1.7,which didn’t install on iDEN phones, I had no problems running this latest version on my i776.
There are no new features in 1.72, just the always worthwhile bug fixes and performance improvements.
Supported networks are the same as in version 1.6, Windows Live Messenger, Skype, Yahoo, Facebook Chat, Google Talk, AIM, MySpace, ICQ, Twitter, studiVZ, shuelerVZ, Gadu-Gadu and Hyves. Update: Skype support as been removed at Skype’s request.
Startup time, always an issue with Nimbuzz on the low spec i776, does seem noticeably faster. Other than that I don’t see much difference. Off line Facebook friends are still listed in the buddy list as numbers instead of by name (their names do appear if they go online) and the OK button and the soft keys are still mapped incorrectly.
Because of the messed up key mappings you need to:
1. Use the green “Call” key as the “OK” key
2. Use the right soft key for the left soft key’s action
3. Use the menu key for the right soft key‘s action
4. Exception : When entering text in native pop up windows, the soft keys (labeled OK and Cancel) work as labeled.

I have been trying to log in but it keeps telling me wrong username or password and when I create a new account it says connection failed. Will someone please tell me how do I log in to Nimbuzz 1.72
When you connect Facebook to Nimbuzz try using your Facebook id instead of the email address you login to Facebook with. How To Find Your Facebook ID.
I have the same issue. My i465’s camera isn’t really Nimbuzz friendly. But you can make the text bigger under MENU->SETTINGS
For some reason, whenever I try to register my Facebook account on my i465 it keeps saying that there is some server error. I had this same problem with the past versions of Nimbuzz, but all my other social networks work perfectly.
I had One freeze up issue where I had to reboot my phone, and when phone lost connection it took a while to reconnect one time and another time the app completely exited. Unlike Papaya, I still can’t send a pic. You see the camera start but then you get some resolution warning and to check settings. Don’t think it’s the camera on my I465, just the software as Papaya works to a point this way. Oh Well. I am still testing to see if I will keep this over something else. Even with the text small, I still don’t like the spacing between lines, but unlike other chat apps, scroll is verry easy and text is easy to read and you can tell who is who. It does seam faster to start up but we shall see. Again, I am still testing. Speed is important to me. I’ll update if I have anything else to say.
Wow. That was a quick response to my request. Thanks! 🙂
