Nimbuzz 1.9.6

Nimbuzz 1.96

A new version (1.96) of the Nimbuzz instant messaging app has been released. According to the Nimbuzz Blog, the new features in this release are:

  • Connectivity Improvement and Optimization.
  • Better Facebook experience.
  • Search Nimbuzz Friends in N-World
  • Fixed a few bugs.
  • Scrolling Speed Improvement.
  • Improved support for Nokia Full Touch and Touch & Type devices.
  • Improved overall performance.

Nimbuzz 1.9.6 runs well on my Motorola Rambler but there are some serious key mapping issues.  The left softkey action is mapped to the right softkey. The OK button doesn’t work but the 5 key functions as an OK button. I can adapt to those  bugs but the right softkey is mapped to nothing which is not good as it’s used as the Cancel key and to return from menus and chats. This version gets a Class Verification error and fails to install on my Motorola i776 iDEN phone.

Vendor: Nimbuzz

Data Connection Required: Yes

iDEN Compatible: (tested on i776): No, Java Class Verification error when installing

Could you help me out Dennis? I have an Innuendo (SCP-6780), and when I try to find my phone on the “Is your phone compatible?” page on the Nimbuzz site, my phone model doesn’t show up.

Do I have the wrong model number for my phone, or am I missing something?

it supports yahoo, msn, google, and facebook. it also has its own chat rooms (which are confusing but tolerable). also mig33 has ways to potentially earn real money. it is not supported by ads (which is nice) and is straight forward. please post new version for j2me devices on here. you will be glad you did.

Key mapping impossible. However, if I may recommend a better instant messaging app. mig33 has a new version designed for j2me enabled java phones. all keys are mapped correctly too. also it supports facebook chat.
