UC Browser 8.4
A new version of the UC Browser was released yesterday. It’s version 8.4. This is the legacy UC Browser, not the “cloud” version with the new UI, which is still in Beta. Even numbered UC versions are “stable’ releases which incorporate the new features from the previous odd numbered “unstable” or Beta release. So 8.4 is basically 8.3, hopefully minus the bugs. UC did add a few minor new features however:
1. Downloading themes has been simplified
2. New Traffic statistics display showing how much data has been saved by UC compared to a traditional browser
3. Link to browsing history has been moved to the top of the bookmarks page
4. New “Tools” menu “Phone” option lets you make a phone call or send a text from within the browser
Type: Freeware
Author: UC Browser Product Page, Forum, User Guide
Data Connection Required: Yes
Minimum Java ME profile: MIDP 2.0
Screen Size: All
iDEN Compatible: (tested on i776): No (Java verification error while installing)
Boost CDMA Compatible: (tested on Motorola Rambler): Yes

Reported NOT working on: Motorola i776
The app “UC Browser” (437 KB) is ready to download or send to your phone as filename: “UC84”.
Downloading uses paid data. Downloads are for Java ME phones only.

hey dennis, still can’t get any uc browser later than 8.4 to work in zoom mode 2 view full web page without freezing or crashing incognito. tried all different settings with no fix. hoped it would work in new 8.8 java version but 2 no avail. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, none from uc. Thank’s qazz
Use the 8.3 cloud version if it’s stable, there’s hardly any difference between 8.3 and 8.7 (8.8 hasn’t been released yet).
