Opera Mini 3.1 With Fix for i9 and i856
This is Opera Mini 3.1 patched to fix an issue which causes the Zeus serries phones (currently the i9 and i856) to reboot while browsing. Details here. This version of Opera Mini 3.1 is only recommended for i9 and i856 users. The generic version is faster on other models and does not exhibit the rebooting bug on them.
If you already have Opera Mini 3.1 on your phone, Download Apps will not automatically prompt you to install the new version after downloading it. You need to go to Java Apps, highlight Opera Mini, press the menu key and choose “Update”. Say yes to the prompt “Keep existing application data” so you don’t lose your bookmarks.

So far, I like this browser better than any other of the ones I’ve tried, yet and get this-all keys are mapped correctly, even the OK button! Sorry about the multi-messages. I couldn’t fit all into the first!
I wanted to let you know, I have the Boost i290. First, I attempted installing the 5.1 version of this browser. It installed, but wouldn’t load, so I tried this one. I successfully installed it and am currently using it to browse this site and I must say,
i have a i9 nextel phone and the screen just went out on me and i need to get the text to speech. with the vopice of barbra or simon. i need some help with it so i can get my contacts, or hear my contacts. please some one help me.
If you are asking for help you should post you comment on the help page not on this Opera Mini page!
I don’t know anything about text to speech on the i9, but there are easier ways to retrieve your contacts from your dead phone:
1. Contacts are on the sim so if you put you sim in another iDEN phone you can see them.
2. If the external screen still works you can press the “Smart button” (it’s on the right side of the phone and has a square icon) to display contacts. Use the volume rocker to scroll through the contacts and press the speaker phone key to make a call.
3. You can copy your contacts to a Windows PC with the free iDEN Phonebook Manager from Motorola See: Edit and Backup your Contacts on Your PC
I am confused which opera should i get
You can have all three! Start with 4.2, it’s the most well-rounded.
